ACTIVITIES

Summer STEM Camp is all about fun, engaging, and challenging activities for the students who attend. Students will work in groups to solve challenges such as creating their own Rube Goldberg machine, using an assortment of everyday items to build a Battle Bot, designing and building a rocket, and making their own candy!

This year the popular Bubble Festival will return, along with a problem-solving fest, the "Mystery Festival" from Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS). Our students become learners and teachers during the festival as they work together to solve a mystery and explain how they came to their conclusions.

Field Trips are some of the most popular features of STEM Camp, and this year all the students will get to experience an Austin area gem, Inner Space Caverns! Other trips include a trip to Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek for the younger students, and the Playland Skate Park for our older students to investigate motion and speed using technology. The final trip will be for all campers and teachers to visit our nearest planetarium in Killeen (Austin IS the largest city in the US without a planetarium), and then enjoy a picnic at the Play for All Abilities Park in Round Rock.
