ABOUT

Summer STEM Camps are fun and challenging programs for Manor ISD students entering the 2nd - 5th Grades (Summer STEM Camp) or 6th Grade (StarBase Austin STEM Camp) during the 2019-20 school year.

Summer STEM Camp for 2nd - 5th grades: July 8 - 25, Monday-Thursday

This camp provides hands-on activities and field trips featuring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics challenges for small groups and classes. These include building challenges such as electric circuits, Rube Goldberg machines, "Gooey Science", and rocketry. Last year's Bubble Festival will return, along with a Mystery fest, candy making, and robotics. Each week there will be a field trip, including Inner Space Caverns! Camp hours are 7:30am - 12:00pm, at Pioneer Crossing Elementary School (Field Trips every Thursday have late dismissal at 12:30pm).

StarBase Austin STEM Camp for 6th grade: July 10 - 19, Wednesday-Friday for week 1; Monday-Friday for week 2

This camp for rising 6th graders provides hands-on activities featuring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics challenges for small groups and classes. This camp is held at Camp Mabry in Austin, and funded by the Department of Defense. Students will begin and end their days at Pioneer Crossing Elementary (Monday-Thursday) or Manor Middle School (Fridays), with Transportation to and from Camp Mabry provided by MISD. Students will be accompanied at all times by an MISD teacher. Camp hours are 7:30am - 12:00pm, with arrival and pick up at Pioneer Crossing Elementary School on Mon.-Thurs., and Manor Middle School on Fridays. Students can eat breakfast at Pioneer Crossing and be provided a sack lunch on Mondays - Thursdays. There will be no food service on Fridays, so students need to eat breakfast at home, and bring a sack lunch for Friday.

For all camps free breakfast and lunch are served Mon.-Thurs. at Pioneer Crossing Elementary to all students (including siblings 18 years or younger). Transportation is also free, and information on bus routes can be found on the MISD website, or by calling 512-278-4085. NOTE: THIS SUMMER BUS DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP LOCATIONS WILL BE FROM THE CAMPUS NEAREST TO THE STUDENT'S HOME!
